A note from our founder
The word Equinox comes from the latin equi for equal and nox for night. It is the name given to the two points in the year where the earth stands still on its axis before tilting back again, creating days of equal light and darkness.
Equinox is a modern apothecary that reflects this sacred balance in its approach to supporting wellness. It is born from equal parts traditional knowledge and evidence-based science.
Each handcrafted product is an invitation to re-connect with nature and find magic in the every day ritual of self-care. I hope you discover joy, healing, and connection with our products.

Equinox sponsors a grove at Trees for Life, an organisation on a mission to re-wild the forests and protect the habitats of Scotland's native species. A portion of all sales goes towards new plantings in our grove and to supporting the organisation's activities. It is so important that we look after our planet for generations to come, and it starts by better understanding the impact of deforestation or over harvesting in our own back yards. safety & the environment
We use only sustainable, vegan, non-GMO soy wax made in Sweden, that is devoid of toxic substances or synthetic additives (only botanical additives) and cruelty-free high-end fragrance oils or organic essential oils to make our products. This means you get cleaner burns and safer air emissions when using our home fragrances. However, with the use of any candle, melt or spray there comes with it the risks of fire or irritation to sensitive individuals or pets. Please read the safety instructions carefully, and research your options if you are at all unsure. Where possible and safe to do so, we have used recycled or recyclable materials in our products, lowering the impact on the environment when crafting or shipping items.
